It's a.....

BOY!!!

We were so set in wanting a girl, today was a shock for me when they said that I was having a boy. And there is no hiding it, he is definitely a boy! I am not going to post any of the ultrasound pictures. We didn't get any cute profile pictures. Just one of his heart, and two of him showing us his "boy" status. Around Christmas we will get the 3D ultrasound pictures. I will post those at that time.

So, those that voted for a boy, good job. Those that were thinking 'pink' thoughts, thanks!

The good part in all this is that Gabi will now get to stay the princess of the house. It will be nice for her. She did, however, cry and whine that she had asked for a girl. She will be a great big sister though. Having a little brother for Kai will be fun for him.

For the time being, the baby will stay in Gabi's room with her. Once Kai becomes a more sound sleeper, we will go through the whole re-painting of the bedrooms, and switch the kids up. Who knows, by then Gabi might be ready to move into the basement!

We will keep everyone posted on other updates that occur. For now, this is our big news!

Finding a name.....

Salt Lake Children's Museum

While Grandmom was out here in August, we went to the children's museum here. If you are ever in the area, it is a fantastic center! It is called Discovery Gateway. The kids love it. I was happy to have another adult with me, as the kids seem to go in two different directions once inside. We love having Grandmom come visit us!

Off of the 4th floor on the balcony is one of the University's life flight helicopters. The kids can sit in it and play around.

Kai just stood watching this replica for some time. It was cute.

This is a neat area. You lift up the door and it has constant air blowing through the pipes. When the kids put balls in there, they get pulled throughout the pipe network above.

It also made Gabi's hair blow really cool when she would open it! :) Maybe we can get her a job modeling for a shampoo commercial.

This was an area that they can pick up balls on the right, and then put them through the contraption next to Gabi's head. It would lift them up to the pipe network above.

Sex of baby #3?

We have an appointment set for this coming up Friday to find out the sex of our third child. I thought it would be fun to put a poll on the blog to see what people think we are having. As you know, we have one of each. Gabi is the oldest, with Kai our baby. (For now...) We don't have any ideas of what this one is. My pregnancy is not like the other two. (Could be because I have a horrible memory.) We are hoping for a girl. Gabi has a big bedroom, and it would be easy for her to share. If it is a boy, we will have to switch the kids' bedrooms eventually. That would be a pain! Gabi's room is bright pink and green, and Kai's is two shades of blue. I'm not sure if Grandmom would be willing to paint them again! Other than that reason, it really doesn't matter what we have.

After we find out what the baby is, we will post the results on Friday night. Stay tuned, and happy polling!

P.S. The reason I put 'one of each' on the poll is because if you ask my uncle, and some of my other family members, I am having twins. We'll see...but we sure hope not!

Kai's First Haircut!

At the end of May Grandmom was out here for a few weeks. Kai desperately needed his first haircut. We held off as long as possible to hold onto his cute curls. The following pictures are his first haircut. Kai was 15 months old.

We figured out how to keep Kai still during the haircut....a sucker! Works for mommy! At one point we had to wash the sucker off because it had hair on it. Yum!

Kai was getting squirmy in his chair, so we switched to mom's lap. These are the last few cuts.

How do I look?

Here is all the hair that was cut off. The good news: once his hair grew back in, he still has his curls! We love the curls!

Gabi starts preschool!!

Gabi started preschool at the beginning of September. It would be an understatement to say that Gabi is excited. Everyday it is "Mommy, do I go to school today?" She goes to school three days a week, for a couple hours each day. She is also in the four year old class, even though she just turned 3. This will give her a good challenge since she already knows all the normal 3 year old preschool topics: alphabet, numbers, colors, etc.

Gabi in front of the house before leaving. People always ask if the curl in her pigtails is natural...yes, I put it up and it naturally curls that way. I wish she had the curl that Nathan's two sister's have!! That would be fun!

All the students were asked to make a paper doll that looks like them. This is the doll that Gabi and I made together. It even has glasses, which Gabi just loved!!

Gabriela's 3rd Birthday - May 5, 2008

Since we are catching up on the past year and a half, I came across these pictures tonight. This was from Gabi's birthday party this year. I can't believe she is already 3. She has been through a lot in her little life, and it is amazing to look back and see how much she has grown up and how well she is doing.

Gabi wanted a Backyardigans party. Auntie Jen gave her this card that sings their theme song. She played with it for over a month!

Where has the time gone?

Time has really flown by. I won't make any excuses to why I didn't keep our old website updated. Life was more than crazy when Kai came along and trying to juggle two kids, and still teaching. I have now quit teaching and am staying home with the kids. I figured it was time to go back to the more simple blog website to post pictures of the kids.

You can see above in our tickers that we have some news to share. We will see who catches our little hint!

Please check back often. I am planning on updating the website quite a bit in the next few weeks to update everyone on what we have been up to for the last year and a half. You will be amazed in how much the kids have changed!

How long has it been? 17 months!

The last time I posted on our old website Kai was only a month old, and Gabi was almost 2. Look how much they have grown!
